VeilNet selected for NextQ, Australia's national quantum accelerator
We're in the second cohort of NextQ, run by Quantum Australia and backed by the Australian Government. It's the next step in taking sovereign post-quantum networking from pre-release to market.

NextQ is the national quantum accelerator run by Quantum Australia and funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Industry, Science and Resources. Over 20 weeks it takes early-stage quantum companies from proven technology to commercial and investor readiness, with milestone-based project funding, experienced mentors and direct access to Quantum Australia's network of industry leaders and investors.
It's non-equity, so the backing comes without a stake in the company. And it's building momentum: Quantum Australia's programs have helped establish 15 new quantum startups in the past two years.
Why a networking company belongs here
VeilNet doesn't build quantum computers. We protect networks from them.
Post-quantum cryptography is the part of the quantum story that has to ship first. Machines that can break today's public-key encryption are still years away, but the traffic they'll read is being recorded now. Every sensitive network in the country has to migrate, and the sooner it starts, the less it gives away.
From pre-release to market
We're starting from working technology. In September we released the third generation of VeilNet as a public pre-release: one command puts a machine on a post-quantum network, on seven platforms, with no account required.
NextQ is about everything around it: who buys sovereign networking first, how they buy it, and building the company to deliver it at scale. We're working through it with the New Ventures team every week.
What's next
The cohort finishes at the NextQ Showcase in late November, where each company pitches to investors and leaders from across Australia's quantum ecosystem. Before then, we're taking VeilNet to Europe with Austrade's Quantum Mission.

Thanks to the New Ventures team at Quantum Australia for having us, and to the founders we share the cohort with. More soon.
